Renaming a machine

Single machine can be registered under multiple accounts to allow sub-rentals, therefore there are certain limitations. The scenario of renaming a machine differs depending on the machine ownership (see below), but the general rule is that machine name and description can only be changed by users with following permissions:

  • Account Owner or
  • Operator with Admin role

If the machine is registered only under one account

Changing machine name and description is easy. Go to My machines to see the full list of machines related to your account. Machines with green pen icon are registered under your account only and you will be immediately able to edit the machine details by clicking the green pen icon. 

If the machine is registered under multiple accounts

Go to My machines to see the full list of machines related to your account. Machines with grey pen icon are registered under multiple accounts. It is possible to rename such machine, but you will need to make one extra step - claim the machine ownership. You can request verification of the machine ownership by clicking the grey pen icon. Verification is carried out by our team and can take up to 24 hours. You will be notified about the verification result by email. Once the machine ownership is assigned to you, the pen icon will change to green and you will be able to edit machine name and description freely.
